I wonder if there's a Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Hard Drives...?

Hmm, there's a few things that could be better:

1. Corsair HX 620. it's quiet, but not the quietest you can get.
2. Drop the fan grilles.
3. hard drives need room to breathe. Plus, suspension = no vibration = win
4. wire management. eeww to those dfi cables. coulda used the ones the board came with?
5. Coulda picked something like a scythe ninja. and then passive'd it
6. what fans are those?

Considering the mess of wire going on, the fan grills are probably a good thing.

The round IDE cables can actually work out pretty well sometimes. BUT, first you need to cut off the big chunks of rubber they stick by the connectors. Those do nothing but get in the way.

Given the small case, there is no room for HD suspension. With 4 HDs, you'd need a pretty big case with lot's of 5.25 drive bays to suspend them all.

1. What's so wrong with the computer in the article?
2. The pictures are too big; you're not supposed to post anything bigger than 640x480.

What's wrong with it? Look at the cabling. It's all over the place. Look at the hard drives, there is no breathing space for the hard drives stuck in the middle. It's probably a good thing they're not suspended because transfering the heat to the metal cage is probably the only way some of these hard drives are surviving.

And a BluRay drive? Regardless of the HD vs BluRay war, he's about a year too early to be wasting his time on HD / BR drives right now.

Admin edit, again, this time for stupidly wide text formatting...

Do not do something like that again.

This thread lacks width.
