my new rig : P-182 se with opteron 2800 mhz passive ....

Post by raziell » Fri Jul 20, 2007 11:31 am

thsi is the last stage of my evolution in cases, i started with 3700 qbe, move to P-150 (to small for me ) move to P182 (love it but die to get the P182 se) and at last i think my last case :
antec P-182 se.
what pictures can"t truly deliver is the terrific finisih of this case,it"s quiet amazing.
i made one change from the last rig i sold the opteron 180 and get opteron 170,now i can run 2800 mhz on stock voltage with passive ninja.
i cant even get to 3 mhz but it get to warm for my taste.
the setup:
opteron 170 2800 mhz
dfi sli dr
2 gb g.skill hz
SAMSUNG X 2 400 GB S-ATA RAID 0 with 2 SMART DRIVE 2002
xfx 7950 GT XXX EDITION
SEASONIC S-12 430W
EIZO S1910
scythe ninja passive
2 nexus 120 mm fans on 7V
antec p-182 se
so,enjoy the pics

Really nice build. I have a question 'bout opteron. I can't believe how low temperatures on it you have at such high clock. How hot does it become when on full load both cores?

I love entire build. Cabling is extremely well done. Nexuses look so cool in black interior. Passive Ninja in overclocked Opteron, I am impressed. But best thing in your entire build is your desktops's wallpaper ^^

Nice, but i still doubt your load temps are 50C with a passive ninja. 50C with Smart Guardian right? thats probably about 60-70C from the CPUs diode (with Speedfan/Coretemp) since the DFI's CPU temp reading is way off (10-20C too low).

When my opty is at 50C (measured by Speedfan/Coretemp) Smartguardian says 37C :p

That's been my experience so far as well. I'd love to see a load speedfan/coretemp or everest temp shot. Either way fantastic looking build, amazing cablegami. Kudos :D
