Why so many hard drives?

What made you choose Maxtor drives?

From the pictures, it looks like you have worked to improve the cooling efficiency of this build, but Have you done anything to quieten down this PC?

My pc is quiet compared the time when the HD2900Xt was with stock cooling.

Yea, I hear only my hard drives. I choose Maxtor because they are not expensive and also quiet.

All the fans are controled with FanMate2 and Aero GateWatch. They are running at 800-900 rpms.

A 12cm fan on XP-90, because 12cm fan are more quiet than a 9cm for same cooling. ;)

Except was it late Felger Carbon who measured that 92mm fans have greater blade surface than 120mm fan, due they have smaller hub. 120mm has bigger hubs and when mounted on XP 90, bigger hub deminished airflow area in heatsink.

However 120mm fan on XP-90 will provide huge cooling to mosfets and rams.

Don't get me wrong, I know a 12cm fan can move more air quieter than a 9cm fan, but because of the larger hub, and the fact that probably 30% of the fans airflow isn't going to the fins of the XP-90, I figured a nice 92mm fan would be best. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Nice performance from the RAID. What disks are those actually and in what setup? Sorry if I missed that...

Nice setup... But do you really need the 120mm outtake fan when you have the 80mm side fan over the CPU ? Or let the the CPU blow down and only use the 120mm outtake fan and skip the 80mm side fan, would probably make the system more quiet.

Else nice system......
