why use a mini p180 when you won't need half of the cooling capacity?

Who said anything about cooling capacity?

It's way overkill for your needs? Mini P180 is at least partially a high end case and none of your components need the cooling so I ask, why? Must be a reason for your choice of fan as well.... Got it cheap?

So...? It's well built, quiet, upgradeable and stylish. What is wrong with that?

Mine was not exactly expensive either...

If you got it cheap then sure but here our mini p180 cost about the same as a P183 and I would not pay so much for a low end setup but as long as you are happy with it. Think you can add another pic of the interior?

that looks like a clean build, and the big fan will give you wiggle room later, should you decide to do some overclocking and such.

i would be tempted to block off those card slot vents & fan hole in the back, because it'll be a path for dust to get sucked in... or maybe cover 'em up with a filter of some sort? it would be interesting to see what the temps looked like when they were fully blocked off.

Sure, I could remove the top 20 cm fan and just use the 14 cm that came with the Orochi. But, I won't, as I don't find the "Big Boy" that noisy, plus it keeps my system cool.

if all of the intakes are either blocked or filtered, dust should be controllable.

37 degrees at 12.5% load... load at true idle would be less, a percent or two, and so would the cpu temp.

the acid test would be to run prime95 on it, and then experiment with fan speeds.

I just ran prime95 for about an 1h, and the max temp was 55Â°C

The GPU reached 69Â°C after two runs in 3DMark06.

They use the same feet on the P18x series too. I've noticed the glue they use is not really good. They come off too easily. Be careful as you move it around or you'll not only loose the "suspended" vibration suppression but with that case you'll lose airflow too.

Indeed. You MUST lift the case if you want to move it. Dragging is not an option.

Nice build! One question: did you somehow attach the giant heatsink to anything or is it only held by the thumbscrews & backplate? Since those things weigh close to 1kg I was always wondering if a vertical build would work at all.

Nope, the sink is only held by the thumbscrews & backplate. Works well, as long as you don't drop it to the floor.

I think so too, but I will replace it with a E5300, 45nm, should run cooler and faster, at a fair price aswell.
