Antec NSK3480 with single moving part

Post by matieo » Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:24 am

Hi everyone, long time lurker, first time poster, heh.

I put this together about a year ago thanks to what i learnt from this forum.

Antec NSK3480
Noctua 120mm Fan @ 5v
Silverstone Nightjar 300W PSU (fanless)
Gigabyte GA-785GMT-USB3
AMD Athlon x4 605e (45W TDP)
ThermalRight HR01 (has been rotated since the photo with a different retention clip for AM2)
ATI Radeon 4670 Fanless
2 x 2gb Cosair Dominator 1600mhz DDR3
Cosair Reactor R60 (a bit rubbish, will be replacing this year)
LG DVD-RW (shallowest drive i could find)

Storage is provided by my media center / server over gigabit lan, a quiet 4U athlon 260u machine.

Nice clean build, I've been thinking of a small matx case myself to keep on the table rather than the floor. How are the temps of the CPU and video card?

Very nice.

This is still my favourite case. Small yet well built.
I too have a one moving part PC in one of these (also Silverstone PSU based).
Pity Antec won't offer these w/o the PSU or I'd buy some more.

excellent cable management, and a well thought out build. very clean, very nice.

btw, i noticed that the noctua is mounted as an intake. did you test it as both exhaust and intake?

knida wondering about flipping my case fan around and giving it a try.

I did try the fan both ways round, as far as i remember this configuration gave the best temps.

With a single fan as intake, I'd be worried about hotspots forming in the case, but I suppose it is small enough that it wouldn't be an issue.
