Hi Sgeva2001,

The noise difference between the P182 and P183 isn't noticeable. I guess it really comes down to what type of PSU you have and if you plan to do some overclocking to your computer?

The reason I asked about the PSU is because if you have a long/big PSU, you might need to take out the fan in the lower chamber for the P182.

The P183 gets more air flow so if you plan to overclock I would personally recommend the P183 (not that the P182 is a bad OCing case).

Overall, as I have stated, the noise difference between the two cases isn't quite noticeable so either case would be good. The P183, of course is newer and is an upgrade to a P182 so for more airflow and design I would recommend the P183.

Here is a SPCR review on the P183

more air flow in p183 will not bring also more noise?

I'm jealous that you can still buy the older P18x cases in the US. The only one I could get in Aus was the P183, and I don't like the front door design.
But yes, it's possible that the P183 is louder than the P182. There are holes in the front door, as I mentioned, and all the drive bay panels are wire mesh filter. They've also changed the fan filters to allow for more airflow. Take a glance through the SPCR reviews of the cases.

Edit: Oh, and the P183 has eSATA as opposed to Firewire. Which I'm also upset about, since no one uses eSATA (at least I don't), but I use Firewire on a semi-regular basis for importing DV footage.

Sorry, let me clarify, I was talking about the front panel. DV as in Digital Video, capturing video footage off my video camera using firewire. Most people don'y use Firewire or eSATA. Here's a shot of the front of the P183

And here's one of the P182, witht eh door open

You can see they've separated the USB ports, which is good for when you have those big fat USB drives, so it doesn't block the other port. You can see the Firewire port above the USB ports in the P182, and an eSATA port above the USB ports on the P183.
The eSATA just plugs into any random SATA port inside on your mobo, but unless you have an external drive that has an eSATA port, you probably won't get to use it.

Hi Sgeva2001,

As long as your PSU does not exceed 5.5 inches (maybe 6 inches depending on the PSU and wires/cables) in length then you would not have to remove anything in the P182.

I've personally seen both the P182 and P183 systems running and they both sound the same to me even with P183 air flow. I think in person you probably won't notice much of difference but on paper you'll find a slight difference between the two.

Antec
