Help me pick out a case...

Post by TealFreak » Thu Jan 20, 2005 5:54 pm

Here's what I've got:

Zalman ZM400B PSU
Intel D865PERL Mobo
Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU
Thermalright XP-120 HS
Yates Loon 120mm HSF

Here's what I need:
A quiet case with no PSU and room to add two more 120mm Yates Loon fans. I'm thinking the Antec SLK3000B. Aesthetics are not important because the system sits behind a closed door in my computer desk. Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

That case is an excellent choice. Is this PC in a cabinet or something? Doesn't that restrict the airflow?

Another good choice

Compucase/HEC LX-6A19 which is almost identical to the Antec SLK3000 on the inside.

I receintly bought a Compucase 6919 and like it ($45 + shipping). It's larger than the 6A19 but the version I bought takes 80's up front.

Good luck.

jordan - The cabinet is open in the back and I push the PC all the way to the back, which should leave plenty of flow in the front.

Nessism - That case looks perfect. I think I may buy that one. Thanks!

Hello:

The big advantage of the 3000B is that you don't *have* to cut out the fan grills, whereas on the Compucase you do (or at least the one that I saw).
