Silverstone TJ06 SATA cable length?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

Silverstone TJ06 SATA cable length?

Post by MrMajestic » Tue May 17, 2005 12:05 am

Does anyone know if the Silverstone TJ06 requires longer SATA cables? I have 50cm cables but maybe thats not enough. Will be getting the case today and it would be nice not to get stuck tonight :) I have an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard if anyone is wondering.

Actually, your problem will be SATA cables that are too long.
With the board flipped upsidedown and the HDD cage directly above, the cables could be way shorter than standard.
I've been looking, but so far, the shortest I can find is 12".
I'd like some in the range of 6-8" (insert favorite "she said" joke here...).

Although my case has been modified somewhat you can see what I mean here...

Sorry for the image quality, my camera is MIA and I had to borrow one.

Thanks for the reply. At least I know I dont need longer cables. I know I've seen as short as 20cm cables somewhere. Found one internet shop that actually made custom lengths too, but I forgot where at the moment.

Excellent find, thank you.

Now if they were only the new, more secure clip-style connectors I'd be a happy camper.
