Antec has oficially listed the Sonata II under the lifestyle category of enclosures. Hope this means that its out of the warehouse and on its was towards the reailers

It is possible that the front bezel may be have larger air flow slits, a mod that most people on this forum made themselves on the Sonata I.gintasr wrote:Just the picture is the same on the website, although the only difference between the two cases that i can notice is the removal of the drilled antec logo and the addition of the air ducting.
The PSU is has been increased in power from a TruePower 380Watt ATX12V to a SmartPower 450W ATX12V v2.01.
Also new is the double hinge door design that allows the door to open up to 270º.
I am not sure the picture of the rear of the case is accurate on the Sonata II, since it appears to be indentical to the Sonata I, and does not take into account the new ducting.
Is the picture of the back panel from the Sonata I (with updated psu), because there are no intake vents for the cpu duct?
Also, I thought the new psu was only going to have a single 120 bottom feeding fan? (again, is picture of updated psu from Sonata I?)
And does anyone know when the Aria II might be released?

I looked on the picture page and both the Sonata I and Sonata II are pointing the the exact same image for the back panel.mshan wrote:Is the picture of the back panel from the Sonata I (with updated psu), because there are no intake vents for the cpu duct?
From the specs of the psu (SP-450), it uses the dual inline 80mm fans.mshan wrote:Also, I thought the new psu was only going to have a single 120 bottom feeding fan? (again, is picture of updated psu from Sonata I?)

True, the specs say that...but anyone know why in the description of the Sonata II PSU, it says "Single fan design"? It says that in a couple places. If anyone would get the specs of the SmartPower 2.0 right, you'd think it'd be Antec.Mike_Metro wrote: From the specs of the psu (SP-450), it uses the dual inline 80mm fans.
NewEgg has the Sonata-II in stock with a full set of pictures. $120.

On the antec website is said that its a 2 fan PSU, but one is designed to turn on/off at specified temps to keep the noise down. So its a 2 fan unit, but works on 1 fan until you start sucking up the wattage.winguy wrote:From the website:Is it a regular SmartPower 2.0 or single fan?Specially designed low-noise SmartPower 2.0 450W ATX12V v2.01 power supply

Interesting theory on why the specs for the Sonata II says:gintasr wrote: On the antec website is said that its a 2 fan PSU, but one is designed to turn on/off at specified temps to keep the noise down. So its a 2 fan unit, but works on 1 fan until you start sucking up the wattage.
1 450 Watt single fan SmartPower 2.0
*shrugs* Could be, I spose.
That's a regular SmartPower 2.0 while Sonata II 's website says Specially designed low-noise SmartPower 2.0 450W ATX12V v2.01 power supply and 1 450 Watt single fan SmartPower 2.0. Since they left the rear fan behind, it should be a 80x80x25 fan in operation, whereas the regular SmartPower 2.0 will only have a 80x80x15 fan running when the rear fan doesn't kick in (which I guess should be what's happening in most cases). Will this specially designed SmartPower 2.0 be quieter than a regular one then?gintasr wrote:On the antec website is said that its a 2 fan PSU, but one is designed to turn on/off at specified temps to keep the noise down. Heh...I had just been thinking (hoping) that they had a text mix-up at this point....but along with your theory, their main description DOES say:winguy wrote:Oh I missed this:I suppose its a single fan (specially designed) SmartPower 2.0 450W, just like TP380S in Sonata and SL350S in SLK3700BQE .1 450 Watt single fan SmartPower 2.0
Specially designed low-noise SmartPower 2.0 450W ATX12V v2.01 power supply
So, could they have really made a smartpower 2.0 with only 1 fan, just for this case? I'd be really surprised...and a bit disappointed, too. I was definitely leaning for the Sonata II because it included the SP 2.0, the TWO FAN variety, not a special design.
I'll keep my hope out that it's a simple text mistake. Can't wait for some actual reviews!
The original Sonata and the BQE, both have special "one fan" versions of stock PSU's, so it would not be surprising that the Sonata II has the same.sundevil_1997 wrote:So, could they have really made a smartpower 2.0 with only 1 fan, just for this case?
