If this thing is built like I think it is, it looks like a decent candidate for water cooling with minimal modding...

And it's nicer looking than a YY Cube, and takes less space, not to mention likely cheaper and less heavy. YY Cube is currently one of the very few choices for a case that can handle water cooling well without massive mods or resorting to exterior placement of radiator(s).

Hmmm, it seems the 'wind tunnel' of the TJ06 hasn't become as popular as they hoped, if they dropped the idea so soon. That case looks like a marriage between a CM Stacker and a P180. But look at all those vents! It's a dust magnet waiting to happen.

So the two HDD cages are down below, and position sideways with the 120mm fans blowing directly onto them. I like that much. Two intake and four exhaust fans allows the potential for some nice negative pressure, also a plus. But the slots all along the bottom almost take all of that away, unless that PSU zone is isolated ala the P180. Could be huge amounts of room for a water radiator as well.

One thing is for sure. The demands of the critical user are having a huge impact on case design, and that's a great thing.

The rear ‘intakes’ are 92mm, plus four 120’s  ...so the PSU’s hot air is taken in by the 92mm intakes, clever

Very strange airflow in that case... :? I prefer TJ6 with ducting over this...

If you ever play with a temperature probe arround the exhaust of a PSU, then you can notice how fast the hot air mixes with all that room temperature air outside the case. The 92mm fans are quite a distance from the PSU exhaust. So unless you place the case in a location where there is hardly any breathing room behind the case, the 92mm fans will get hardly any hot air from the PSU.

Well, I head back from them. They don't know yet :(
No conclusion yet, can't answer you at this moment.

Hopefully the TJ07 will be released soon and then it will get a thorough review here. I just asked Silverstone and they say that it should be quieter than the TJ06 for the machine I want to build (2x dual core opteron).

With a similar spec to the machine I want to build - dual opterons, Tyan Thunder K8WE motherboard. There are more pics on the sites linked to at the bottom of the page.

I've been in touch with Silverstone and they've been very forthcoming with details, although I don't know if I can release more details than they have officially. Although this is an aluminium case, look at how heavy the gauge is, both the external and internal chassis. It weighs in at 9.6 kilos!Hopefully no resonance.

I did urge them to get a review sample to SPCR asap! Also I'd love SPCR to review the new ST60F EPS12 power supply; uses a 12cm fan rated at 24dbA min and is modular.

I still think that having 92mms are really odd. Especially when Silverstone is using all 120mm fans for the rest of the entire case, why switch to 92s -.-;; jus tmake the case wider/taller to accomodate. Having 6 120mms would be purdy *drool*...
EDIT: Ya, that thing could have some serious dust problems. However, I do think that having the 2 x 120mms side intakes for the fans definately is a good move.

In my opinion it's V1000 shape minus all the vent holes, with CM Stacker expandability, and P180 styling. Definately would want to see a SPCR review, perhaps of this ;P

A sample request has been sent off to my contacts at Silverstone.

The main question I have is: Where is the intake vent for the top section? Looks like only the hole at the bottom of that chamber, leading to the bottom chamber, is the intake.

Or are the 92mm fans supposed to be intake? Ah yes, that's how they are listed on the specs. This suggests that quiet cooling for the vidcard(s) will be a challenge as usual... unless that bottom vent can act as an intake?

I doubt the bottom could help as an intake, as 99.99999% of all PSUs I've heard of (the .000001% is the PSU for the Overture) blast air out, not in.

Definately look forward to that review, MikeC ^.^...

There is a removeable hard drive cage with a 120mm fan intake on the front of it that can be installed on the upper portion, it looks best in the lowest 5 1/4 bays.

I tell ya, everytime I turn around SilverStone is taking my ideas out of my head and putting them in the market.

When I built my first silent PC about a year ago, I drew up my idea for a case. Turns out SilverStone already made it, and so I bought a TJ-06.

Soon after, I was thinking how heat rises, and that it would make sense to have the exhaust fans on the top of the case to remove the heat. And now they did that (though, I would have had the intake in the back where the PSU is).

I got another idea now, but I think I'll email them with it.
