P180 and Acoustipack

Post by Shadowknight » Mon Jul 18, 2005 12:50 pm

A while back, either here or on another forum, I saw pictures of someone appplying acoustipack or some other form of accoustic dampening material to a P180. Supposedly application was tricky due to the vibration dampening strips. Anybody know where I can find these pics?

P.S. - yes, I used the search function, no, I couldn't find it.

Hopefully Acousti will be releasing a P180 pre-cut kit PDQ.

It was definitely here - I remember it, too. I'll poke around later and see if I can find it (keep in mind "later" might mean as long as a day or two).

Thanks for the reminder! I forgot about it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find that post. I spent the last 1/2 hour searching the site and came up empty :(

I suspect it was deleted, because I looked for hours. Note my "bump" is no longer in this thread either.

Hmm, could be, but that doesn't make sense unless the picture was too big to host.

I can see deleting a bump message after a subsequent post is made, though - it makes the bump unnecessary.

...Acoustipack available for P180 @

endpcnoise shows a couple of damped options for the all-black P180:

Accoustipack is $110. A bit pricey, but if you need it, you need it.

Yes, I know, but I already bought some Acoustipack for $60... This doesn't help without a picture.

I recieved this reply from Acousti, regarding pre-cut kit:

Thank you for your enquiry into the availabilty of a pre-cut kit for the Antec P180.
This kit is currently under development and will become available during the next few months.
I have made a record of your enquiry and will contact you as soon as the kit becomes available.

Excuse the bumpage.

I was also looking into a pre-cut kit and received the following reply:

Thank you for contacting Acousti Products with your enquiry into the
availability of a pre-cut kit for the Antec P180 case.

Unfortunately we will not be developing a pre-cut kit for this
particular case - if only time were permitting we would have very much
liked to have done so.

The only option currently available from Acousti Products is to custom
fit the acoustic material from one of our generic kits, the AcoustiPack
Standard or Deluxe - both of which are available from Quiet PC,
www.quietpc.com.

Kind Regards, Derek

Bit odd really, still, I'm hoping they'll make one anyway, would save me a bit of trouble and possibly a bit of frustration in case I get something wrong.

Here is a thread, made by the original poster, Shadowknight, himself, describing his project involving Acousti-Pack Deluxe V2 and the Antec P180. It's same as the link found in his sig.

Also, I too e-mailed and received the following response, dated April 25th 06.
Thank you for contacting Acousti Products with your enquiry into a pre-cut kit for the Antec P180.

Although we know that there is a high demand for this kit we are presently unable to give any indication of when this product will be produced, if at all.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may be causing and can only suggest that you utilise one of the generic AcoustiPack kits (AcoustiPack standard/Deluxe) and adapt this to the P180 case for the time being.

For more information on our range of Acoustic materials please visit: http://www.acoustiproducts.com/en/multi ... erials.asp

Kind Regards, Derek
So it would seem we have multiple indications of a pre-cut kit not appearing.

Heh, it's been so long I don't remember if it was that one!

Nice post, though - thanks!
