Antec CES pictures at AMD Zone
Greetings,
Some interesting pictures of new Antec cases and power supplies over at the AMD Zone. It looks like they have some black/aluminum P150's and some smaller siblings...there appears to be a HTPC case, too.
What do you think?

Hello,
The other photos show the HD rack, and the intake grills on the bezel with a little more detail. All the photos show the cases with a PS -- maybe though, they would be available with and without a PS?
What I don't understand is why the middle-sized model is missing the audio plugs on the front?

Hello,
I dunno -- maybe it should be in the cases forum, but my intention was just to be informational. We don't know if these are quiet cases, or not, and so it is just a discussion about what we can see...
[/meta discussion]
I'm not sure I like these as much after I see the relatively small openings in the intake bezel -- the ones on the sides. The tiny perforations on the face are not worth very much at all, in terms of air flow.
Now, a black P150 would be a lot better.

It wouldn't be nice, it's ludicrous that practically no other manufacturers are making any cases with any of such quieting features, except seperate thermal zones. Since the P180, antec are basically competing with themselves. The other manufacturers won't even bother to release a good acrylic case, which would also target another market simultaneously like the P180.
Edit: wait a minute, this isn't a new case. And I was getting my hopes up that it had room for 7 hard drives.

from what I understand
The largest case is P150 with SLK3000b-style side panel (no other changes visible)
The middle one is an atx case with P180-style drive cage. 2x 92m exhaust?
the small one is a m-Atx with 2x 80mm intake fan (why two?) no drive cage, only has one place at the buttom to place the HD and one on the 5.25" bay.
the small one would be my fav if the price is right.

This is the second question like this in this thread. For all the people relative new here: He won't answer such questions This is discussed several times before with other new Antec products. So if you want to know why, just dig up old posts by AntecRep.Swiftman wrote:Antec Rep: [...] when do you anticipate it being available for purchase?

Ok, the case that looks like P150 will be called NSK 6500, It will have an exact clone of the SLK3000b side panel and it might not actually come with the HD suspesnsion. Price is $119 and it will be available in March.
the middle case will be called NSK 4400 ($100~$110) and the smal matx case is NSK 3300 $89 and it will be the first in its kind to have a PSU chamber and 120mm exhaust. both will be shipping in march as well.
the HTPC case NSK 2400 $99 with 380watt PSU "will have something called "air dam" that sits inside the case next to the back-panel air intake vent and lets you direct airflow depending on your motherboard's layout."
The other HTPC case (with knob and display) is called Fusion, will be available around May for around $199
EDIT: NSK 4400 is not Btx.

Seems quite reasonable price there, btw why they put those perforated holes instead of let front intake do the job?spolitta wrote:Ok, the case that looks like P150 will be called NSK 6500, It will have an exact clone of the SLK3000b side panel and it might not actually come with the HD suspesnsion. I'm a bit puzzled by the small mATX case (the NSK 3300). It looks like one of those micro-ATX power supplies sitting in the top... does this mean a standard ATX PSU won't physically fit? And it appears to be "upside-down"....
Also, it seems from the pics as though it has very thick case walls - is this a false impression from the camera angle, and it's simply the way the upper chamber is constructed or a non-standard way of attaching the panels, or is there some kind of acoustic sandwich being used...?
Interesting...
