help: slight whine/buzz when cpu at full load

Post by pookguy88 » Mon Apr 03, 2006 10:10 am

Hi there, I'm new here, been reading some articles and thought i'd check out the forums.

anyways, i have a slight problem. I just switched from a Antec SLK3000B to the P180 yesterday and I've noticed that when I run prime95 (torture test) I hear this slight elctronic whine/buzz sound from inside the case. I can't pinpoint what component it is, maybe you guys can help? And I don't know if it was like this before in my old SLK3000 case because it was a lot noiser than the P180.. does anyone else have this problem?

also, are these temps ok for my setup:
idle: 29-31*C
load: 45-47*C

any help is greatly appreciated! :)

my rig:
- 3000+ Venice E3 @ 9x290 (XP-90 HSF)
- DFI NF4 Ultra-D 6/23
- OCZ Powerstream 520W

- Evga 7800GT w/ Zalman 770-CU
- Maxtor Diamondmax 10 200gb 7200rpm SATA
- Benq 1640 DVD-RW
- Antec P180

Probably the VRM coils. Only advice is not to run Prime95!
