What cases fit a Scythe Ninja? Antec P150?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

What cases fit a Scythe Ninja? Antec P150?

Post by DaveSimmons » Tue Aug 08, 2006 11:16 pm

Has anyone made a list of what cases are wide / tall enough to fit a Scythe Ninja?

I'm looking at my Sonata and SLK3000, and both look like they might not be quite wide enough.

The Ninja fits with room to spare in the P150.

I'm quite sure it'll fit in both. The width of most mid-towers is enough. The proximity to the PSU is the bigger issue depending on how close to the ednge the CPU socket is positioned on the motherboard. Also some very big chipset HS can be problematic.

The SLK3000B has a removable air guide to get fresh air into the CPU HSF (at least mine do). That would need to be removed before fitting a Ninja and closing the door. The Solo definatly is wide enough (as hravn says) as I have that combination! Any case that has a 120mm exhaust above the ATX backplate will fit a Ninja.

Thanks guys.

I'm planning a new quiet dual-core work computer and have been reading the SPCR articles on how much better the Ninja is than older HSFs like the Zalman 7000, but size-wise it's a monster.

it is a beast, but as said before, most antec tower cases will have plenty of case width to handle it. i just mounted mine on an asrock 775dual-vsta mobo in a p150 with just under an inch to spare all the way around. I love that the ninja is elevated around the socket so it doesn't get in the way of nb coolers, etc.
