P180 going out of production?!??

Hi,

So, decided to get myself a P180. Went to the closest electronic shop which I new have a P180B on display.

Sorry, out of stock and the display model had some problem (he did not want to sell it anyway).

So, headed off to Akihabara. The electronic district here in Tokyo.
First shop. Had silver model, black model out of stock (they had just a few weeks ago when I was there).
Second shop, out of stock.
Thirst shop, out of stock (they had special offer on it when bought together with MSI motherboard just a week ago).

Now came the odd part. The guy in the third shop told me they would not get the P180 again. End of production he said and another guy in the shop confirmed this in English (I didn't think my Japanese was good enough at first

)

Anyone heard anything about this? Seems spooky that 4 shops, where I have seen the black P180 (v1.1) for sale within the last few weeks are all out of stock.

New model coming up maybe?

Any rumours out there?

Hmmm? I was wondering about that.
May very well be time soon for a P190, or P200 series?

Or they were referring to the P180 being unavailable, and not the P180B, which uses a different Antec part number.

I was looking for the P180B and none of the shops had P180B. One shop had 2 P180's (silver) but I dont want the silver version.

The P180b/black, is still available. Not quite a collectors item yet...

P180/P80B is not going out of production.

I've even confirmed with our Japanese sales rep that our distributors in Japan are still ordering P180's.

Than you for confirming that.
I asked some other shops yesterday, and it seems like it is merely a supply issue. All the shops I know that used to have this cabinet is empty. Most have even sold the display models.

One shop stated that they would get new stock on the coming Friday, the other I asked (as well as an online retailed I checked) said September 1st.

So, guess I was just subject to misleading info from shop salespeople (known trick to get you to buy something else while you are there rather than wait and risk that you buy somewhere else).
