How to spot a P180 w/P182 features
I just got my updated P180 from newegg. I went to cut out the UPC for a rebate and noticed it is marked, This may help identify the updated ones for people looking in stores.
Just under the UPC code:
P-180B V1.1
I'm guessing the V 1.1 is the updated one with the p182 features.

P182 features in a P180B case
I just wanted to say that I received such a case a couple weeks ago, but the UPC just had P180B with no other markings.

I also had P-180B V1.1 below the UPC code and it was the original P180B case, i.e. not a P182, so your deduction would be incorrect (my case was shipped from NewEgg's California warehouse last week). Micro Center had the P182 in P180B box and I noticed that the P/O # was different than the one shipped from NewEgg; maybe this is a better indicator of what's really inside??chicagofilms wrote:This may help identify the updated ones for people looking in stores.

I went to Frys today and investigated a few P180B there. They also have the P182 and the P182SE as well. Here is what I found:
P182SE and P182 both have similar P/O #:
011X07KS where X is a number
P180B have the following P/O #:
025X07KS
020X07KS
My guess is that the first 3 digits is the week of manufacturing. For example, 011 indicates it maybe manufactured in the 11th week.
Can anyone who bought a P180/P180B but got a P182 instead give me some P/O # to prove this theory?
Thanks in advance.

So many new people on spcr who don't read the review. There are now three versions of P180. The original, the first, which is marked V1.0 on the outside of the box, the second slightly updated which is marked V1.1 outside and P182, which incidentally also marked V1.1. The second revision, normally marked as V1.1 is only a slight improvement over V1.0, it has vented brackets, missing VGA duct, clips for fan in the middle section, regular 25mm in the bottom section and three tabs on the side panels instead of two.
In short, getting V1.1 version does not guarantee that you will get P182, it will simply guarantee that you will get second revision with the features outlined above.
As of now there is no way of telling if you will be getting P182 cases inside of your P180 boxes. If you really want P182 internals with raised motherboard tray, either take your chances and gamble or pay up for real gun-metal colored P182.

JazzJackRabbit:
Thanks for the clarification. I admit that I did not read the review carefully. However, PrivatePixel already point out that P180 v1.1 doesn't guarantee P182 and I believe him. I am just here to see if there's other ways to spot a P182 that can help others who are in similar situation. If there is none, then that's fine. But if there is, it can helpful for those who prefer a black P182 whether that is because of color, price, etc.

I have a P180B (the original case) and my P/O # was 860977. I'm pretty certain that the P182-in-P180B stocked at the local Micro Center has a different P/O # than the one used by NewEgg and Fry's.smallghost wrote:Here is what I found:

I think JazzJackRabbit may be right in assuming that there's no way to reasonably deduce which P18x case you'll receive until the box is opened.
