* Antec New Overture

This is a home theater PC case with "flipped" layout similar to that of Antec's P180 and its brethren. The New Overture is capable of accommodating a full ATX motherboard, and it comes with two 120mm TriCool fans, the speeds of which can be adjusted from the back of the case.

* Antec Twelve Hundred (1200)

Also on display was the upcoming Antec Twelve Hundred. This case will come out in two models: one with support for water cooling, and one without. Both will come equipped with 12 5.25" bays capable of accommodating hard drives, a 200mm top fan (and an optional 200mm fan port on the side of the case), and an interchangeable rubber mat at the top—a finishing touch for users who like to leave gadgets or loose change on top of their PC.

* Antec Mini-P180 (!!)

One particularly interesting specimen was the Mini P180. This model is a shrunk version of Antec's P182. It only takes Micro-ATX motherboards, and it has fewer 5.25" drive bays than the P182. Nonetheless, the Mini sports a 200mm top-mounted fan—bigger than the 120mm model on the P182.

That Mini P180 looks rather lovely. Combine that with Mini Ninja ^^... I wonder what its price will be?

I really like the 1200... might have to buy one.

The absence of the Micro Fusion is very disappointing... but the new Overture looks interesting. Any word on release dates?

Sweet a 200x200mm radiator, thats only 8% smaller than a PA120.3. Lets hope that the 200mm fan is quiet. To bad it doesn't have a door or use the P180s design.

I would of rather seen the P190 add like 2-3 inches to the top of the case so you could mount a 120.2/3 + 25mm shroud easily inside it, It already has 2 - 140mm fans in the top.

After owning the Stacker 810 for quite some time now and recently purchasing a P182 for my office. Stacker type cases just don't cut it for me anymore. They are loud, huge and cost a arm and a leg for very little performance gains unless you have the best ( and hottest ) hardware around.

The Mini-P180 looks interesting, kind of a bummer that it only takes micro-ATX..

It seems Antec is getting the taste of huge fans, without going for sidefans. I like it.

Now lets hope Yate Loon starts manufacturing 200mm fans soon

I must have that mini P180.

Lookin' at the mini P180 pix, one wonders how can one of the fans 120mm and the other 200mm -- is the chassis that wide? The only difference seems to be the motherboard tray and that surely is not more than 10-20mm.

An improved Antec SOLO ( a lil' bigger H44xW21xD52 ) with the outside look of a mini P180 and 140 cm fan's ( or at least for the rear ) whould be a very nice thing.
But I whould be satisfied with the bigger Solo with 14 cm fans.

PS : A Seasonic PS with 14 cm fan should be a great idea too.

The M-P180 has also got me interested. MicroATX doesn't trouble me overly. (One more picture at AnandTech.)

With the 120mm and 200mm fans, I'm dreaming of a passive setup with a Scythe Mini Ninja

the thing with the 20cm fans is, that, there aren't a lot of them, and, the one antec includes has a very noisy clicking sound to it. the 20cm fan I had with my 900 was horrendous. well, all the fans were, but we're on 20cm here, right ... the tricool 12cm fans in one of my p180 cases, 2 failed after only a month. Anyways, removing the 20cm fan and selling it on ebay is a viable option. having the top as a large vent would prove useful.

Thanks for the observation, jaldridge6. Is the clicking present with the fan at minimum voltage/RPMs?

Sorry to interrupt but could someone tell me what improvement was made regarding Antec's P182 case and whether it warrants spending extra on it? I found the P180 under $100 on their site for the B-Stock cases. Could one just go to a bit more trouble in organizing the cables?

Is it worth $50 extra to have the cabling neatly arranged for you? Can you do it yourself in a P180? I would go with a P182 if I bought a brand new case or the silver P180 if I bought it at Antec (B-Stock). It might be worth $50 if the cooling is more efficient and you obtain cooling easier? Still, it adds to the budget.

Why do you all speak of mini-ninjas? There should be a full size ninja fitting in easily. I think the mini is just less tall, so if there fits a 20cm fan, why not a real ninja?

Hmmm, because Minja ( Mini-Ninja ) is so cute and goes so well with Antec Mini cases?? But I think I would like to pair them just for fun...

Doesn't make real sense... with that 200mm fan up there and a normal ninja you could probably cool a QX6800 semi-passive without taking further action... And, a mini ninja isn't a lot cheaper than the normal from what I've heard, and cooling is inferior.

mini p180...... is it just me, or does it look almost exactly like an nsk3400 with a new "p180 styled" bezel, and the psu area put on the bottom instead of the top?

i honestly dont understand why they put the psu zone on the bottom on either version of the p180. you can isolate it thermally with it at the traditional top rear of the case, just like they did in the NSK3400. All it does is create issue's with wiring not being long enough.

not a fan of the original fridge, so the mini fridge look is just as bad IMO. i'll stick with the NSK3400 for micro atx, and the solo/p150 for full atx.

NSK3400 won't work well if you want to have 4+ HDD.

Mini P180 looks pretty danm nice. enough slots to fit 8 HDD for my file server.

That Mini-P180 looks awesome, any idea when it will be out as I was due to build my new system this month. If its too long would a tempory measure of a Akasa Zen be a good idea?

I liken it to correct PSU sizing with weight replacing wattage Ok, weight isn't that big an issue, but I prefer a light CPU cooler with less cantilever effect, particularly when I need to move my computer.

Performance-wise, I'm not worried about the Mini Ninja, especially as new CPUs continue to be more efficient. When I bought my new (now 5-month-old) rig, I couldn't get a Thermalright XP-120 and was concerned that an XP-90 may not cool the C2D E6600 very well. But the XP-90 does an excellent job: ~20° after cold boot and ~25° during normal use according to TAT (for CPU0; CPU1 is usually 4-5° lower). I don't foresee problems with a fanless Mini Ninja in an M-P180 (or whatever it's going to be called) for my uses.

Sure, a bigger cooler would take off more degrees, providing more headroom for overclocking and upgrades, and would be safer under all possible conditions - wait, that's starting to sound familiar. Oh yeah, that's why you need an 850W PSU

I have nothing against big coolers or big (and efficient) PSUs, I just don't happen to need either
