for build limted to 15" deep, need advice asap

Post by thegoldenstrand » Thu Jul 19, 2007 1:44 am

Ideally no more than 14 inches deep, but 15 will just squeeze in.. nothing but air behind back of shelf case. Antec NSK 2400 won't fit.. too deep by 1.5 inches.. height limited to 6.5 inches or 10 inches depending on top or bottom shelf.. any ideas?

Must fit 2 hard drives and micro atx board and standard psu with good air flow while whisper quiet.

I have the Silverstone case.

It will fit a matx mainboard with normal psu and two harddrives. I have paired it with a 500 Watt Silverstone PSU (Short Cable edition) and their NT06 heatsink.

The heatsink lines up below the PSU fan. So you don't need an extra fan.

The PSU is dead silent. The strange thing is that i also have the normal version of the PSU and that one is not silent.

any other (bigger) pics of set ups with this case?

Thanks for the pic and thoughts.. will look into ... was going to get the new Seasonic S12 II 430W PSU to go with case, what other heatsinks would be good in this case.. NT06 appears to fit perfectly. How is the cooling performance using psu fan to cool?

I have the same case and cooler:

Idle : 40C
Load : 70C

And this is with a minor OC. I think this is a great case, I don't use the 80mm fans that comes with it, I have a Nexus 120mm as an exhaust to my GTX. Of course you will not fit a GTX without modifications, either moving the drive cage to the oppisite side or simply putting the HDD in a 5,25" slot.
