Black version of Antec NSK2400?
I wonder if anyone knows if there's a black version of the Antec NSK2400 coming?
I've been waiting for this for a while and really got my hopes up when I saw (is that spelled correctly?) the NSK4480B.
So I really hope that Antec will release a NSK2480B = Black NSK2400 with EarthWatts 380W PSU.
If there isn't a black NSK2400 coming I guess I just have to get a black Fusion instead but I would much rather have two 5.25" drive-bays than a display.
Other planned components for my HTPC are:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (but I'm waiting for Penryn to be released)
MB: ASUS P5E-VM HDMI (haven't been realeased in Sweden yet but I hope will be when Penryn comes)
RAM: Corsair 2GB DDR2 (haven't decided which speed yet, probably 667MHz)
HDD: Seagate 7200.11 1TB
DVD: Samsung SH-S203D SATA
CPU Cooler: Ninja Mini
Fans: 2 x Nexus 120mm

Not sure what countries it will be released in though...

I've waited this long, I'm sure I can wait another monthmartynh wrote:According to here the release date is 11/09... Now I'm torn, can I wait that long?
I'm currently in the same situation too. I'm caught between the NSK2400 and Fusion Black. I'm going to be getting a Samsung LCD so the black case would go really nice with that.
Does anybody know if the front panel on the NSK2400 is detachable? I've never done any case modding or painting at all but am I wrong in thinking that the NSK2400's front panel could just be painted black?

Should be possible, it's only alloy.Parm wrote:I'm currently in the same situation too. I'm caught between the NSK2400 and Fusion Black. I'm going to be getting a Samsung LCD so the black case would go really nice with that.

It's a shame there's no sign of the UK shops like Scan stocking the NSK2480B.

I've had great luck with painting computer parts with black Plasti-Kote Vinyl Color. That spray paint is very thin and will retain the grain of the original surface. I have painted an entire 17" CRT monitor (including the swivel base), a laser printer and optical drive faceplates with this paint.Parm wrote:I've never done any case modding or painting at all but am I wrong in thinking that the NSK2400's front panel could just be painted black?
I would have painted my own NSK2400 black if I thought the existing silver paint looked cheap, but I was happy to see it looks very good and left it alone.

Did you have to turn up the brightness? Tee hee.
Do you have to do any special prepping of the surface before hand?
Still optomistic that the black version might surface in the UK.
Doesn't seem right to paint a brand new case.

Seems the NSK2480B may have finally arrived in Oz
I've been trying to find some news about the NSK2480B on Antec's webpage but I've found nothing. Has anybody else seen something about it besides it is being sold in Australia?
Right now I'm going to wait until Intels Penryn CPU's are released in January hopefully and I really hope that the NSK2480B has been released in Sweden by then.
