I guess it would ruin the case I am just concerned with motherboard temps but what I have read everyone is more concerned with cpu temps well on a hot day my mobo will get up to 36c in the p-180 cae when others are reporting temps as high as 42c or even higher on the mobo so i do have a spare side panel i might try the mod with just to see if I get any lower temps this summer. Thanks for the info.

Window is a nice idea to I have the technology to cut a good hole in the side with edging to take care of the hole and a nice fan grill to protect the fan from getting anything in it but like you say it will ruin the case and I like my cases the way they are. They are almost silent as they are set up and made the one even quitter by putting some acoustic material on the wall in back of the case and did it make a difference for noise of the hard drywall and is low enough not to be an eyesore. Thanks for all the info.
You are probably the first one here to even consider mutilating P180 side panel for more airflow. No one (probably in the whole world) has problems with motherboard temps, because P180 "lacks" a side panel fan. 36 Celsius is super cool temp for motherboard. The problem is not in your case, it's in your head. You need to adjust your unrealistic expectations.sandman7777 wrote:I guess it would ruin the case I am just concerned with motherboard temps but what I have read everyone is more concerned with cpu temps well on a hot day my mobo will get up to 36c in the p-180 cae when others are reporting temps as high as 42c or even higher on the mobo so i do have a spare side panel i might try the mod with just to see if I get any lower temps this summer. Thanks for the reality check and I have given up on that idea its running as cool as it will every get with ambient temps 26.2c and mobo 36c ten about ambient is what it usually runs and that good for me i have the right to ask question and get answers to my questions and that is life. Thanks once again. Just like I said to my friend the other day his P-182 runs 38c mobo but cpu runs real cool the other day but its on a high shelf almost up to the ceiling and I said wonder how hot these E-machines and HP or Gateways get you buy from like walmart or Best-Buys or circuit city they have to be real hot.

Yes, I have problems with punctuation ,but this is not school and English class. My case is silent now with new front 80mm 34cfm Noctua fan and new 120mm top Noctua 54cfm fan. I have also replaced the Zalman 9500 with the X-1283, what a difference in temps and I will leave it at that for this discussion. I also saved cutting a hole in the side panel, by just attaching a 120mm low speed fan about 1-2 inches away from the panel blowing on the motherboard. Thanks for the help.
Xigmatek X-1283 looks good, a copy of Thermalright's tower. I don't know of any benchmarks on it.
Punctuation helps make meaning clearer, so while I don't care much about perfect grammar, it's kinder to make things clearer.
I'd suggest a 120mm front fan if possible. My P180 has this feature. More airflow for the same noise.

Enough about the punctuation. You're on the internet.
The Xigmatek HDT-S1283 is not a Thermalright clone. It has direct touch heatpipes which is significantly different. Have you read SPCR's review of it?yukon wrote:Xigmatek X-1283 looks good, a copy of Thermalright's tower. I don't know of any benchmarks on it.
