lian li PC-C36 & PC-C37 slim matx desktop case
The PC-C36 has a TFX 300W PSU, with a backplate that can be switched between 4 low-profile expantions or 2 full size expantions with riser card.
The PC-C37 can take a full size ATX PSU, with a fixed 4 low-profile expantions.
PC-C36 is at least ~200$ and the PC-C37 is at least ~150$.
They are less than 10cm high, so that's pretty slim, even slimmer than the NSK1480, AND takes a full ATX PSU in the case of PC-C37 (silent 120mm fan hourray!)
I'm wondering what i should get.
A C36, a geforce 8300 board with hybridpower and a 9800GT.
Or a C37 that's 50$ less, and get a DFI matx board that has two x16 PCIe slots and do a 3 way crossfire with 2x low profile HD3450 + IGP, and a silent full ATX PSU. This should be more silent, but i don't think it'll beat the first option for gaming.
here are links to the cases:

Very nice cases.
Looking at these for my 780G/4850e combo as an alternative to the NSK2480B which is too wide and deep for my needs, and really like the hidden flush optical drive on the C36 something that the Antec sorely lacks. In a perfect world I would prefer the ports to be nicely hidden behind a flip down panel of some sort instead of exposed.
It is on newegg now with a couple of reviews posted - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811112185
Not to sure about the cool & quiet or what kind of cpu cooler I could use instead of the mini ninja I had planned for the Antec. I would be very interested in a SPCR review of this case?

Nice one, plenty of those here in Australia tooSpare Tire wrote:Perhaps a good old XP-120 if it fits, and if you can still find it.
Wondering if that crossbar might get in the way and trying to figure out where the 2x3.5" drives go. Looks like one on the linker bar and maybe the other under the 5", I hope that having a drive on the linker bar isn't susceptible to vibrations. Looking at the linker bar pics on the Lian Li specifications page they show what looks like an inbuilt IR port and receiver. Strange, but if that model is available it would be great.
On the hunt now for a build post with pics to see how it all fits together. I'll post if I find one..

Yeah thats exactly what I thought too, but the newegg reviews says its quiet?? :shrugs: I was looking at the C37 so I could choose my own PSU but it doesn't have the nice optical tray and button only the C36 has but instead a full sized whole bay assemblyKlaymenDK wrote:Hmm, I don't know, to me they look noisy.
70mm 1500rpm fan and a custom PSU?
Also, all the ventilation holes makes me doubt the accuracy of their nice airflow pictures.
But what do I know?
My other concern is the HDD mounted on the linker bar, that might have some vibration-noise issues? Didn't have alot of faith in their pretty airflow pics either, going from the PSU fan to the fans on the other side of the case.
Finding the right HTPC case really is a PITA.

Hum, now that the 4550 is on it's way and might be available in low-profile, and hopefully you can crossfire them, the question of how good it'll be to have a three way 4300+4550+4550 would perform becomes even more intreeguing.
And if that works out, we can use a full size ATX power supply with the C37 case.
