Would there be any appreciable cooling difference between the Solo and the P180 for a build with:
Intel Q9550 (heatsink TBD)
4GB Ram
GeForce GTX 260 or similar
(2) 1 TB hard drives
(1) 20x DVD burner
PSU TBD

the GTX260 is too long for the SOLO (you need to cut part of the HDD enclosure to fit it in), but the 4870 is shorter and fits just fine while giving very similar performance (generally either card will be within 5-10% of the other with no card having a consistant lead) and is priced the same.
It also has the advantage of fitting a Accelero S1 and qutie a few other GPU coolers, the GTX has differnet mounting holes and right now your stuck with the stock cooler.
Apart from that, the SOLO will cool things just fine. I guess it depends on how much more the P182 is as to weather its worth it.

I'd say the biggest difference between the solo are in looks and in ergonomics/ease of use. The solo is really quite limited in space. I recently had to replace a PSU in my Solo and I had to remove my CPU cooler (and thus my CPU, Arctic Silver is stronger than a ZIF 
) to even get the thing out. Especially if you're going to use a large GFX card, it's just cramped. With a GTX, you can count on it that you'll lose at least one HDD space. Two HDDs will surely still fit, but possibly not suspended.
Don't get me wrong, the Solo's a great case, but you shouldn't forget that it's quite a bit smaller.

)The P180 would take a bit more work to make silent. Its sort of a hybrid case, designed so it will work for both overclockers and silent enthusiests. But it takes a bit of work to make it really good at one or the other.
The solo was made to be a quiet case, and other than swapping the crappy stock fans that come with it, you shouldnt have to do anything else to it to make it quiet.
Other than that, its mostly just personal preference. Ultimately they can both be made to be quiet enclosures.
