can't find a short mATX 1u rack case :( EDIT:found! :)

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

can't find a short mATX 1u rack case :( EDIT:found! :)

I'm looking for a 1u rack case no deeper than 40cm (~16'') which could hold a micro ATX board.
I was unsuccessfully trying to get a chenbro rm12500D for a half a year :( so now I'm looking for alternatives

My suggestion would be to buy a rack mountable shelf, bolt on a motherboard tray from an old case, and a cover on top.

What's the reason for the depth restriction? Is the depth of your rack smaller than normal?

thanks for the tip, I was already thinking about moding one of the abundant itx cases. I'm restricted by the depth of my portable case. Also, I don't want the case to be so big and heavy I wouldn't be able to move it around.

supermicro

I just found an interesting supermicro 1u case although I'm not sure if I could fit a regular PCI soundcard in it yet (using a riser card and maybe some light moding)

I'm looking for the same and looked at the case- if you use anything but their flex-atx atom motherboards, the rear I/O port holes need to be re-cut and the power supply and case connector cables are too short without extenders.
