It's not as fancy or small as some of the other cases I have made but it is just the right width and depth for my Hi-Fi stack. Top and sides are 3/4" hard wood. The airflow comes in through a vent in the bottom and out through the back. Normally the computer is turned on and off by a remote so I put the power button in the back to protect it from my children. I still need to make some feet for it so the orange blocks are just temporary. The motherboard tray came from a defunct Compaq Athlon XP system. The case itself isn't really designed to be quiet but the Athlon 240 and laptop hard drive are near silent already.
Originally I prototyped it in cardboard. The cardboard case worked great but was not strong enough to hold up my amp. See this thread. viewtopic.php?t=55533&highlight=
my new wood HTPC case
