Lian Li PC-B10

Post by themaster1 » Sun Apr 25, 2010 2:41 am

I just bought a Lian-Li PC-B10, it was a bit pricy but i like it aesthetically.

I'd need advices to silent it from people who have had the same case if possible.

My current setup:
Intel Pentium 4 Prescott hyper threading (2,93 GHz) (89 TDP)
MB: Gigabyte (OEM)
Cpu cooler: Noctua NH-C12P SE14 Top Down
Ram: PNY 2GB DDR (PC 3200)
Twintech Nvidia GT220 (rad+fan) 1Gb
HDD 1: Samsung Spinpoint 200 Gb (7200 rpm) (OS)
HDD 2: Seagate Barracuda 500 Gb (7200 rpm)
XP home 2006
dvb-s SkyStar 2 (satellite)
dvb-t Hauppauge Nova T HD (terrestrial)
Terratec cynergy 250 pci (analog)
Blu-Ray drive: Samsung SH-B083L
Fan controller: NZXT Sentry 2
PSU: Zalman ZM600 HP

I use the mobo & cpu since 2006, my next move will be to replace that but i'm happy as is.

The Fans:
Cpu fan : Noctua (3pin) controlled via the motherboard (PWM), run at 559 rpm currently
Gpu fan: auto-controlled
Lian-Li front / top fan: (2pin) controlled with the Sentry 2, 40% speed
Lian-Li front / bottom fan: 697 rpm (3pin)
Lian-Li rear fan: (2pin) controlled with the Sentry 2, 40% speed

The temps are as follow (Everest home edition):
Processor: 32°C
Gpu: 52°C
Os drive: Samsung Spinpoint (6 years old) : 31°C
other drive: Seagate Barracuda (2 years old): 35°C

Additional notes:
* I notice my PSU exhaust real cold air compared to my other case with the PSU at the top. (and i mean REAL cold)
* the overall noise is totally ok "as is" although, i want to improve that especially at night actually when i sleep ( the pc is close to my bed 2-3 metres)
* the ventilation for my drives is a lot better than my previous case (it had no fan in front of the HDD's) the barracuda could go up to 50°C and higher without even using the drive !
