carboard baffles?

carboard baffles?
Hello I would like to put baffles in my computer and i only have easy access to cardboard. Can I use this or will it catch on fire?

You can use it, and it has been done before. You just need to make sure to keep the cardboard away from the motherboard, meaning, just make sure that the cardboard is not directly touching the motherboard when you create your baffles. 1/8 or 1/4" is more than enough room, you just want to prevent the contact in case there's ever a short circuit, as the sparks would catch fire if in direct contact.

There is a small probability that the cardboard will catch on fire. Not worth it. That said I have no idea what would be better for baffles... Check an art or craft store.BlackWhizz wrote:Why not? Also cardboard doesnt conduct so you can put it on components if you want.
Use plastic from a cheap binder like Ralf Hutter did with a PSU duct.
