This is my first post!
I have a custom spec. PC consisting of an Intel Core i7 870, Gigabyte GTX460 1Gb DDR5, 750W Corsair HX-750 14 cm fan and Western Digitial Caviar Black HDDs.
I have already replaced the stock Intel Cooler with a Noctua NH-U9B-SE2 with 2*90 mm fans installed with the LNA speed reducer to 1300 rpm. I have also replaced the Tricools with Noctua NF-S12B FLX 120MM fans, running then with the LNA 900 RPM.
The occasional hard drive or optical drive noise doesn't bother me, however, at night time when I want to listen to music with my open headphones (Senn. HD650s) the ambient fan noise is annoying.
Do you have any tips or products you would recommend to lower the noise?
Kind regards,
Peter.

As per the SPCR review for the P183, the top exhaust fan may be the primary source of annoying noise for you. See what the rig sounds like with the top exhaust fan disabled.
Re: P183 reducing fan noise
Try lowering your fan speeds a little bit. Stopped the whooshing noise in my Solo.
some wd blacks could be louder than others; the 2-terabyte wd black that i have seems louder than the 1-terabye version, but it's also about the fastest consumer hdd on the market... speed vs. noise, how fast do you want to go?
i'm guessing that the two 90mm fans at 1300 rpm could be one of the biggest noisemakers in your pc... start unplugging fans, see what makes the most noise.
