Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

P183 Update or succesor?

Post by Blitos » Sat Nov 27, 2010 4:11 am

Hello,
I'm looking to upgrade to a P183. However, I'd like to know if Antec is planning to update the case soon (in the next 6 months - year). I know they recently "updated" it, as in backplate motherboard hole and SSD mounting capabilities, but I mean something more substantial, PP184, etc.
Recently Antec-Rep said in this very forums that they might update the 3480 and Solo, but no word about the Performance One series.

Thanks

Iirc he said they won't update the NSK3480. Just FYI.

Btw.
If you are looking for a better gaming case, go for a Silverstone Raven.
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, go for a Fractal Design R3.
Apart of these alternatives, stick with your Antec. IMVHO.

The Raven is too big, besides it does not have a front door.
I read in the forums that the Fractal Design cases are a little flimsier that the Antecs and they only have 2 5.25" bays. (I have no solid references in the noise made by the big non standard Define XL fans).
My pc is not terribly hot and I don't intend to do crossfire or set OC records, just make it as quiet as possible. So it looks as the P183 is still the best choice. Thanks!

Look for disappointment in its front panel usb 3 implementation. Cheap and irresponsible design.
