Hi, first post here!
I'm about to build a computer, and am trying to pick a quiet case. From the forums, I seem to be favoring towards the Antec Solo. I don't want to do any modding.
The main thing I want to make sure is that the Solo won't get too hot with my components:
Intel core i7-870
4 GB (2x2Gb) 1600Mhz RAM
Graphics card: Radeon 5830 (will never upgrade, or use two graphics cards..and will this fit?)
Only 1 hard drive, Western Digital Caviar 1TB Black
Motherboard: SUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156 (will this fit)
Power supply: XFX 650 Watt 80+ bronze
Will it get too hot? I want a "relatively" quiet case (not many openings), but not at the expense of overheating my computer and messing up the parts. It does not have to be "silent".
Thanks!
Will the Antec Solo get too hot with these components?

Re: Will the Antec Solo get too hot with these components?
Hi and welcome to SPCR!
The Solo, with proper fans, can easily handle the power of this build. I'd stay away from the 5830, though. It's a bit of a frankenstein - high TDP with little benefit. Get a 6850 for $10 more.

Hi, thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately, I already bought the 5830, since I saw a deal for $145, and it was bundled with an XFX 650Watt powersupply for $20. I can't return it.
I didn't know it was more hot.
Given that I already have the 5830, do you still think it'll be okay? And any idea if the components will even fit in this case?
Thanks!

Re: Will the Antec Solo get too hot with these components?
Generally speaking, the Solo can handle that heat quite well.
Said that:
It's needlessly expensive and it's a dead platform: you should go for a low end Nehalem (930 or 950), or a Sandy Bridge (a 2600K?).
I don't know: anything under 10" (or 25cm) will fit.
Again, it seems not a good pick: hot without being enough performing, you may spare a lot and pick a good, cooler and quieter 5770 (the oc'ed MSI Hawk), or pick the far more efficient 6850 (even the std Sapphire give a run for its money to the poorly made 5830).
I don't think you will notice any difference with a 1.5/2TB Green, but in benchmark, but as it does not have to be silent, suspending it will be a reasonable trade off. IMO a little SSD (64-128Gb) and a WD Green will be a far more performing solution, if you can afford it, and you'll spare a helpful bunch of watt (heat).
The 750W and 850W one are far superior (and should be silver, less heat): if you want to stick with XFX, you should do better to buy one of them.
I think that you just miss a cpu cooler and a couple of fan, don't you? Stock Intel and Antec are terribly loud.

Re: Will the Antec Solo get too hot with these components?
I'm running an Asus Radeon 6850 in a solo. Perfectly fine and good temps for everything. I was a bit surprised because mike's review showed a 10 degree temp increase for the cpu/mobo with this card. But the 5830 is a really bad choice, it's way less efficient than the 5850 or 6850.
