Alert: Team MacOSX shows life
Team MacOSX has outproduced us for the last 24 hours, continuing a week-long trend of increasing output. We don't want them sneaking up on us do we?

You were given proper notification in other threads! Don't get caught with your processor core bare! From the ashes the Phoenix shall rise again! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! You WILL succumb! Conan, what is the secret of life?! To see your enemies driven before you and the lamentation of the silent folders! Do you know the 'Riddle of Steel'? This is more like the 'Riddle of Silicon'?
In this day and age, it's not wise to make such jokes. Same goes to jokes about objects undergoing rapid and non-reversible chemical changes, and physical harm to the leader of one particular nuclear power.wgragg wrote:They probably got some elementary school to join up for their team....Now where is that Mac virus I was working on?
Besides, I think having the Mac fanatic^H^H^H^H^H^H^Henthusiasts after you is infinitely worse than having the Secret Service hunting for you.

I've seen Macs crash too, though I must admit not quite as often. Of course, there's not quite as many applications to crash it eitherZipity_Du_da wrote:lenny wrote:MACINTOSH - Many Applications Crash, If Not, The Operating System Hangs
No thats the M$ theme song. followed by the flip side "the Blue screen of death"
or is it take that DOS and shove it? Heeee Heeeee!
Actually, I would dearly love a good acronym for Microsoft or MS Windows or whatever. I just haven't managed to find one as cool as the "Many Applications..." one for Mac.
To paraphrase an old joke:
Windows XP : Yesterday's OS, Today
Windows Longhorn : Today's OS, Tomorrow!

Even though we had an influx of folders recently, including some agressive folders, we still need more points. We need to either recruit more folders or borg more machines. Team MAC OS X has been outproducing us for the since Mar. 11th and their weekly production is getting really close to ours. We do not have much of a lead.
Pete, can you work some of your whatever it is you do with those sheep and goat
ARM, did you give up on overtaking TRC-13...not that I'm trying to cause any trouble here

ACK! MacOSX is now officially on our threats list. Their 24 hour average is now 23,095 to our 22,721 , but that's the AVERAGE. Over the last seveal days, they are outproducing us by a good margin. Take a look at these graphs and you will see what I mean.
We need to get the word out , recruit some new members. Voodoo Pete , I want to see those guys burried with Tinkers, OK? Stevo and Roy, we could sure use your help again.

Nah. Oh, no question, that hurt, but I'll not allow that to be used as an excuse, ya hear?! We have gained far more from our new folders than we lost with Lockheed, and it's a fact of life that we will loose someone now and then, so the answer is to recruit, borg, and do whatever we can do to grow.sthayashi wrote:I wonder if losing Lockheed has finally put us under.
If we just had a couple more like sthayashi, captain_android, Kemokim, BMW, Grokker, Ogre1384, aston, mobquet, Pete_Amer, kaid, D_Bailey, Unregistered, or NullObject, plus a few more like Mormakil, the_crate, grandpa_boris, etal, we'd be right back where we need to be.

Honestly, I think that is how the Mac OX team is doing it. One thing you have to hand the Mac crowd is that they are very loyal and fanatic. They have a larger base to draw from in some ways. Since Silent PC's is a subset of the enthusiast market, it is harder for us to recruit. Before EOC stats went down, I would look at their new members each week. They added a lot and we will have to do the same if we are to keep ahead.

There are, in fact, TWO battles being fought here, one for the lead between our two great teams, the other being who can reach and pass EOC first. Of course, the head-to-head battle is the "greater" of the two, but the other is not unimportant. I see the biggest battle, and the most satisfying and gratifying, being who can pass The Knights first, but first things first, and that would be EOC.
