FAHStats discrepancy in PPD/PPW addition

Post by Zyzzyx » Thu Apr 22, 2004 9:02 am

With a batch of the DGromacs here, I've got some crazy scores right now, as do other folk. Curious thing though...

On the Overview screen on FAHStats, it shows all 10 clients reporting, and an overall 4700 PPW.

If I go through the clients individually and add them up, I am at 7400 PPW.

Any ideas?

I noticed that too. I don't know where it's coming up with that calculation.

Bugz damn bugz!!! :)

Edit:
The issue is that FAHLogStats is ignoring 2 of my 5 boxes and calculates the PPW for the whole farm based on 3 machines instead of 5. PPW for individual machines are calculated correctly.

I'm seeing the same problem -- here's something interesting though. The total PPW being reported in the overview section is the sum of all the PPW of clients I have NOT running the double gromacs core.

That doesn't quite read right, let me make it clear. I have 3 clients.

Local1 -- Gromacs, 463.91 PPW
Local2 -- Double Gromacs, 1307.35 PPW (go go p4 =))
T-Bird -- Gromacs, 332.22 PPW

Total -- 796.13 PPW

Well, if you add it up 463.91 + 332.22 = 796.13. So, it would appear that it's simply ignoring PPW from the double gromacs for some reason. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

Bryan,

Unfortunately, I'm not doing the same thing.

Overview: 4521ppw

Should be: 8053ppw
minus the Dgros -- 3605ppw

Summary
P-M Gro 568ppw
P4 DGro 912ppw
P4 DGro 1672ppw
P4 DGro 1864ppw
P4 Gro 760ppw
P3 Gro 435ppw
P3 Gro 314ppw
AXP Gro 810ppw
AXP Gro 718ppw

dasman --

I assume those p4's are the ones you're talking about in this thread?

If you add in the odd-p4-out (the one producing half as many PPW) to the PPW of all the other non-double-gromac machines I think you'll find that it totals to what fah logstats is showing in the summary. I'm not sure what this means... there's something odd about either the machine or the protein for that one p4.

Bryan,

You are correct -- maybe it's not the fact that it is a DGro -- maybe it doesn't like any PPW over 1,000??

That is exactly it. I just added up my systems that have PPW of under 1000, came out to right what the Overview page listed.

Sure, I'd be happy to.

Edit: Zyzzyx already did. Here is the thread.
