Any distributed computing projects that can run on the GPU??
I was hoping that there was a way I could run Folding@home or another worthy Distributed Computing project on my GPU instead of my CPU. Anybody has any ideas or comments on this?

Huh, that's an interesting thought. I wonder if GPU's are programmable enough nowadays that a meaningful pixel shader could be programmed to generate coded graphical data? My guess is that, since GPU's are designed to blend textures together and dump geometry on the screen, it would take more CPU time to process the graphical image (to calculate any useful information) than it would for the CPU to just do the task itself. After all, GPU's are hardly general-purpose.

There is a F@H client that uses the GPU under development. Last time I heard about this is might come availlable in december. But that is two month ago and its not there.
GPU's have amazing processing power, if you measure it in FLOPS. But they are so specialised that it is hard to calculate anything that is not related to 3D models with them. So a lot of DC projects can never benefit from them.
