Yeah, you shouldn't notice it Crisspy. I've seen batches of benchmarks run comparing performance with and without F@H and the difference was a matter of a few percentage points across the board.

I downloaded the wrong version, I dl the screensaver and it only seems to fold when the screen saver is active.

The problem it won't uninstall properly, it still exist after uninstallation.

Oh well, I guess I am folding slower than you guys..

I also lost a WU unit because, I did not enter team number and name when it prompted me to be awarded. Is there anyway I can retrieve the WU unit?

ez2remember, I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you have either the graphic client or the console client configured with our team number and running correctly now. I remember how anxious I was about the status of each and every one of my WU's back when I only had a handful of them, but just leave it folding for a while and a single lost WU will quickly become a drop in the bucket.

If your computer is quiet enough to be left on all night (my bed is about 4-5 feet from my computer), having it fold at nights will more than compensate for having a slower computer. And as you know, many people on this site who aren't using super-overclocked CPU's and whatnot to fold, so people fold at all sorts of speeds. Every new folder is an improvement over no work being done. :)

Welcome to the team, and happy folding!

I do not see a 1250 frame WU on the project list - http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html - What is the project number?

I've got TWO 73 point units underway!

Post by NeilBlanchard » Tue Apr 29, 2003 6:06 pm

Hello:

I've got two different 73 point WU underway at the moment; one is p670 and the other is p671. I decided to remove the -advmethods switch from my two fast machines -- and these are the ones I got! Maybe I can claw back into 5th place, now that my SETI totals have been increased by 8 units in one day! 8)

My Athlon 700 still is using the Gromacs core (using the -advmethods switch) and all three use the -forceasm switch (which forces it to use any optimizations it can).

I've received two of the 1250 frame WUs out of a total of six so far... my 1Ghz PIII is taking a bit o' time to grind it out :)

riff, your sig data alreadys shows 101. :) Looks like we'll actually hit 100 today, before April is over, my original seemingly unrealistic target nearly a month ago! :)

We have over 1300+ members in SPCR forums and only 78 folders, that's only 6% of us.

For all those who have not joined yet, join the team. The software is really good and you don't even know it's there.

Just joined the team with 2 computers: My P4 2GHz at home, and an Athlon 1800+ (1.54GHz) at work. Both running 24/7. Looking at the ranking, this is one hell of a strong team!

Nice Gerwin, don't worry if you are using two computers you will catch up and will pass me & others soon. I am at 40, but I was at bottom not so long ago. I only got a P4 1.8Ghz.

Just wanted to say hi to everybody. I joined a couple days ago after folding for overclockers for over a year. I switched because I love this site. Because of silentpcreview I have an overclocked athlon xp that is dead quiet.

I accept your damnation, now that I broke the top 10 of SPCR (currently #9 and hot on MikeC's tail at #8). Admittedly, I have my home computer plus 4 more in the lab running, but [\on hyperrationalization] they would otherwise be idling uselessly 85% of the time [\off hyperrationalization].

The guys at Extreme Overclocking have their new and improved statspage back online again btw. You can now see the stats for each member of the team, including the threats/conquests thing.

I see my only threat is dukla2000.. So dukla, I'm hereby discontinuing all my aid trying to get your computer to stop corrupting workunits. Sort out your own mess. Cya, have fun.

We've got a threat! Knights Who say Ni have got a couple major folders, since the stats page has come up, one of them has already broken several thousand points!

We need some people to build silent farms, fast! :)

Ha ha ha! They're going to pass us in December. That gives us plenty of time to find them a nice shrubbery.

Was reading the folding community forum you pointed to: seems there are other folk with a similar problem and no cure. However have flushed the graphical client from my box with the problem, as well as the core's, so basically the threat is now serious :D
