According to Stanfords Stats page, Team MacOS X has overtaken us. I'm sorry to have to be the one to report this, but somebody hadta'.

Edit: Arachnid stats now reflects this change, as will EOC Stats as soon as it finishes updating.

It was a fun race... you guys are a classy bunch and I certainly learned a lot of good info from your site. I now know how to build a pc and not have it sound like my vacuum cleaner (like the last pc I built.) In fact I might be putting that knowledge to good use here real soon. VirtualPC is a little too slow for my needs (hmm, I wonder how long it would take to fold a WU hehe)... a nice silent pc next to my dually G4 would be perfect.

Take a look at the daily chart!

Post by NeilBlanchard » Thu Feb 05, 2004 4:25 am

Hello Team:

If we keep the current trend up, we may just pass the Mac OSX team again!

Probably this is due mostly to the ARM Systems team, but I added a machine to my client MAudin (a Pentium M 1.6gHz HP laptop) and our active members number has climbed a bit, too...

Go team! :D

Yes, we can pass them, if we keep folding this way and even better. ARM is part of the team and I'm glad they've joined us :) . Let us not close the Mac Wars :D

Conquests and threats are usually calculated based on the weekly score. However on Arachnid's stats you can view the lists based on daily scores (since our score has risen so much the past few days which doesn't show in the weekly score yet). Then they show up on our conquest list again, overtake date end of februari. However they are still gaining new members. But one can wonder how long those will keep folding. Half of their list is made up of peeps that only turned 1 or 2 WU's. Proportionally they have more inactive members then we do. And it takes a lot of patience and persistance to work your way up through all those inactive peeps all the way from the back if you only have one pc folding, like most of their new members do.

The Knights are finally on the conquest list as well Image, however the overtake date is feb 2004 despite our 2000 ppd gain. :?

It seems there has an end to the inflow of new members for MacOSX. 2 days they had about 247 members, yesterday morning 273, yesterday evening 276, this morning 281, and now I see 280 members.

Well you know, you can't have new recruits all the time. However, there will be more to come. Especially with your recent trash talkin about our team.
May the best team stay the winner. We plan to!

However it ends up, Science is the winner in the end.!

Zyzzyx's excellent graph, which I had bookmarked, seems to be lacking graphics for the last couple of days. It was always a pleasure to check it during the recent phase of the competition. Sure would be nice to have it back, seeing as our two teams will be chasing each other up the ranks.
(hint, hint)

By the way, I see your team also has the Knights in your Sights. Tell you what, you guys kick them in one Ni, and we'll kick them in the other Ni. All in the name of science of course.

Fold on, quiet friends.

All the best,
susato

susato,

Hey man, welcome to SPCR.

The zerothelement aka Arachnid site is down since Friday - that's where z's graph comes from.

That's what happens when ya use a third party vendor. ;)

Those graphs are from the Arachnid Stats pages, and he's been down with hardware difficulties the last couple days. They'll be back, hopefully by Monday.

Just a little motivation from our FRUITY friends:

Topic: Salute to spcr for a good spar!, Most coveted target now kwsn! Seems they are sharing a laugh at our walk through the Tinker minefield the last few days

That's it boys, let it soak in.... Got it... Now let's break out some more PC firepower! Don't loose focus, 'cause they are still right in our Folding cross-hairs, so stay sharp and keep all guns blazing - shooting virtual Folding bullets of course  . And send for more recruits to shore up the front lines!

They should not take the disturbance in the force lightly.

Their laughter will cease when this battlestation is fully ARMed and operational.

2.35 Macs = 1 x86?

Post by NeilBlanchard » Tue Feb 17, 2004 4:19 am

Hello:

Doing the math (292 / 124 = ~2.35) it looks like the Mac folks (my first computer was a Mac IIcx, BTW) *need* almost 2 1/2 times as many members to stay (a *bit*) ahead of us...

We're on the comeback trail!

Post by NeilBlanchard » Sun Feb 22, 2004 1:40 am

Our weekly output has surpassed the Mac OSX team and we could overtake them (again) in mid April, at this rate.

Let's go for a 50% "loyalty" rate -- all you gray (inactive) folders need to start folding again...

EOC says 279 (126), so we need 14 inactive folders to get active again. Alternatively, we need 28 new folders - 307 (154).

Calling all former F@H folders, we need you back!

EOC Stats projects SPCR will overtake MacOS X February 29, just 12 hours after we pass AnandTech. Two in one day! [Of course, I wouldn't bet on it actually happening that way.]

Just for fun, I took a look at Arachnid and clicked DAILY PRODUCTION. February 27.

Granted, we have had a couple of EXCEPTIONALLY good days, and Team MacOS X have suffered a nasty batch of work units, so I think these numbers are "optimistic," but I also believe we WILL catch them, whether it takes a few days or a few weeks.

Excellent job team!

Well I'm back... Got a couple of CPUs crunching for us -- two instances on a 2.4c and a one running on a 2.4b.

As of the 12:00 update last night, Team MacOS X had matched us for the day, but today is shaping up as a GREAT day for SPCR. We have put up 14K points in 5/8 of a day, on a pace for 22K!

We are only 5600 points behind Team MacOS X, and we could take a chunk out of that today. Our overtake date has improved to Feb 28.

I predict ARM's first 3K point DAY!

TRC-13 is on a pace for fantastic day.

bkh is having a good day.

Zhentar is having a good day.

I could post my first ever 1K day! :D
