Re: Hi Guys Newbie here...
lol well I've still got a few bits to get yet, although it's nearly all picked out and the moneys there, i have the case, gpu, cpu cooler (although i think it was a bad choice) I am having second thoughts on the psu.. and I can't decide if the price tag on the dominator platinum RAM is justified.. or which version of windows to get (other than the 64 bit for the free upgrade to win 10) and whether to buy oem or retail or even a recycled copy.. because apparently they do that on amazon!! and for 1/2 the priceCA_Steve wrote:Welcome to SPCR....though usually people post before they purchase
So I guess I'm gonna ask for some second opinions on here I think.. any advice?
Case: Fractal R5 w/window (Bought already)
MoBo: Asus Z97-AR
CPU: i7 4790K
Cooler: Zalman ZNPS9900 (Bought already) was told the i7 needs am cooling even before oc!
RAM: 16GB Duel Chan. Corsair Dominator Platinum 1866mhz c9
GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ (Bought already)
PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 750w / or 850w for £5 more
O/S: Win 7 or 8.1 64bit / Retail or OEM /
SSD:... no budget for one yet but have 3 x hdd i can use for time being!
Monitor: LG 3D TV/monitor 1080p (already own)
It's a gaming pc but also my everyday computer inc vid editing/rendering ect hence the i7 over the i5..
I also want to go with a Water cooling loop when i have the extra money to spend, & eventually SLI GPU's and 2x 1440 Monitors.. which is why i was thinking maybe the 850w psu for an extra £5 for futer proofing or am i being silly and 750w will still more than enough for sli and water cooling on a small gaming rig???
Thanks in advance, i should probably post this in the right thread..
