Hi all,
Ok I have obsessed with making both of my pcs run as quite as possible. I have read the and searched the forums a few times and seems like everyone is saying that the rubber grommet screws for hard drives are totally useless? My case isn't built for rubber grommets but I figured I could easily drill a wider hole in the screw area and make it wider so the grommet goes through both sides.
Of course the grommet on the hard drive side would be tight as a mule.
Is it worth putting in the rubber grommet screws or should I just return them?

I've never tried rubber grommets but I find the Nexux Doubletwin works great. You'll need an empty 5.25 bay though.
not useless, and can in fact have quite an effect, but suspending the drive takes about the same amount of work, and gives an even greater noise reduction. I only use the rubber mounts when there is no room to suspend the drive.
