First foray into replacing my power supply

Hi all.
This is my first time fiddling with my computer. I have to admit, i think I'm going to enjoy it.
I have a dirt cheap desktop that started sounding like a vacuum cleaner. I have narrowed it down to the power supply. I'll admit I then blindly bought something that I hoped would replace it. The new power supply is far too big and doesn't fit in the case! I thought before I try again, I'd get a bit of advice, so here I am.
The (noisy) power supply has a Golden Field logo on it. It is called a Pentium IV & PFC Model:ATX-420WB&P4 and labels it as an ATX switching power supply.
I haven't been able to find it online which makes it very hard for me to know what to replace it with.
I'd be very grateful if someone could suggest a suitable alternative (i'm in the UK). My case only had three external screws if that helps.
