The Sounds - Living in America

not quite sure why scandinavians always make good music, but I guess they just do....

klankymen:

Bulding a HTPC so i've been browsing the forums to update my brain a bit.. I've only used laptops for a year and havn't followed the new hardware stuff at all so i was a bit lost for a moment

My cat tore up the suspension-of-the-cone on one of my speakers pretty soon after i got them ready, and i've moved to another apartment so i don't have room for floor speakers anyway. She has since learned not to do that again. Going to fix it though, at some point...

And there's plenty of really crappy scandinavian music to compensate for the really good stuff..

Today, i have mostly been listening to whining clients. Which is nice.

Our old cat bullying our new cat, plus the distant sound of a terrible cover of Billy Idol's White Wedding coming from my housemate's laptop. Murderdolls I think it is. Awful

Oh no... now that's finished I can hear someone singing acapella on the television in that annoying whiny wobbly "style" that can only mean X-Factor is on.

Get a real job! One where you can't hang around on forums while "working"

I got myself 4 weeks of job (metalworking, not a desk job) for the semester break, so not too much time to hang around here ;)

Yes well, an office job is the last job i ever thought about doing, if possible even less anything customer service related, and certainly not talking on the phone! Still, it has to do with cars and the people at work are nice. Well, most of them are  I can't imagine doing this for very long though. But yeah, let's not get all depressed now, you have to start somewhere.

Anyway, i have all the bits to build my HTPC now, i just need some time off from work so i can put it all together. Just tomorrow left, then three days free, two days work, weekend free :D

Oh and if anyone i interested here's the bits as of today. post in gallery once it's done, but the music thread posters are first to know everything

cars? What is it, car insurance?

I'm just joking around with you.... 4 years from now I'll have a desk job for the rest of my life.... oh well.

Nice looking HTPC... I think. I'm not so up to date with desktop parts myself. Since I got my laptop I've been thinking about converting my PC to a HTPC, but I'd have to get a HDTV for that.... windows is really unusable over composite.

Insurance, roadside assistance, towing... basically solving other peoples problems all over Europe

Two weeks ago i had no clue about desktop parts either, having used only a a laptop for the past year. It was pretty easy to get up to date though.

Continuing the long tradition of this thread being the official preview thread for my systems, here's a pic. The reason for the picture is that im wondering if anyone knows if its possible to do without the adapter bit with the small connector coming form it. Apparently it is so i can turn the system on and off using the remote. Looks like sheit, and can't be good in any other way either. So im stuck using that hideous thing, or not having the ability to turn the system on and off rusing a remote?

Im watching Nikke Knatterton on Youtube  Finnish dubbed version of Nick Knatterton.
