What was your first computer?

Heh, me too. Paired up with Borland's Turbo Pascal for $50 and I was in heaven. It meant I didn't have to use the 5-user Apple 2E networked computer lab system at school anymore. With all 5-users going, it could take more than 20 minutes to compile a 100-line Pascal program!sea2stars wrote:IBM PCjr
Good times, good times
an Apple ][c!
I was so jealous of my friend that also had an Apple IIc but with the 800k 3.5" floppy drive. I kept getting topped out on my 140k disks (at least you could flip them over and get another 140k).
Remember taking a hole punch to make another notch on the 5.25" disks so that you could use both sides of the cheaper single-sided disks?

wow this brings back memories..
our families first PC was a Comodore64. dont know the specs, was way too young.
the next PC we had was a AST 486 dx2-50Mhz w/ 4mb ram and a 384mb hdd. I think i have the hdd around here somewhere, still works last i remember!
it was about this time i started messing w/ computers, upgraded to 8mb ram so I could play Doom1 w/o booting with a special floppy, lol. I also upgraded the graphics to a voodoo2 later on (maybe that was with the 166mmx, can't remember, all i know is it was for playing Final Fantasy 7). It had a Sound Blaster 16 ISA card, which i have infront of me. it's almost 11" long!
the next upgrade we did was too a Pentium 166mmx w/ 64mb and a 10.2 gb 5.25 quantom fireball LP hard disk!
shortly after that i got the infamous Celeron 300A and o/c'd it to 450 using a Abit BH-6 board (still have this too).
i used DOS mostly, i despised Win 3.1
