Speedfan only shows 1 core of dual core CPU?
I'll try to be as concise as possible and start with the relevant information.
CPU: AMD S939 Opteron 185 (dual core)
Mobo: Asus A8N-SLI Premium, latest BIOS
Speedfan: 4.32, freshly installed
I've seen other folks show screen captures where SpeedFan shows each core temperature independantly. Is that only Intel CPUs that report multiple temperatures? It concerns me because by using the processor affinity feature of Prime95, I'm able to confirm that the "core" temperature in Speedfan runs much hotter - about 8*C hotter - on core 1 than core 0. It would sure be handy to have it report each core temperature. As it is, I suspect the core temp must be much closer in physical location to core 1 than core 0, meaning the temp is misleadingly low if core 0 is being used the most heavily.
So does anyone know if the Opterons or any other dual core S939 AMD's will report both core temps?

well, if you read it at least once what i wrote, it can be guessed that the "evolution" from manchester, toledo, windsor to brisbane took some time.. so yes, i tried many versions of speedfan, essentialy from dec. 2005 till nowFelger Carbon wrote:It's a long shot, but you haven't mentioned the version of SpeedFan you're using. I'm up to 4.32, but I'm running S754 (single core).mad_man wrote:it seems that speedfan reads only one core's temp on any AMD.
no single one read both cores for me
