Some Duron's

Post by thejamppa » Fri Aug 17, 2007 3:26 am

Here's picture what I got with 65 €'s including postal feeds:
18 working duron's ( 600 Mhz - 1000 Mhz ) and a working AMD XP 2400+
Pretty good deal but I mainly bought this due XP 2400+

But first time I've had this many processors in same place at once ^^

What, no 6502s? :D

In the TV series Futurama, the robot Bendit is "powered" by a 6502...

lol i love how you brought 18 durons for the one aXP. i guess you are just relisting the durons?. [i am obviously assuming this is an ebay purchase..]

ebay (older) processor/mobo prices really show how motherboards need to be made more durable.

What are you going to do with them? What about a farm of some sort? Is there a such thing as a Folding @ Home Farm?

I just spent two hours reading Wikipedia entries related to jumping the shark.

Way to go, peteamer.

Quite a lot peoples actually buy these things. Considering what, XP 2400+'s worth is, 30 to 40 €'s alone It works perfectly. (its already sold, by exhanging into working XP 1700+ and received small payment besides old processor )

Now, there is one 1000 Mhz Duron, two 950 Mhz, two 850 mhz, a single 800 Mhz and rest are 600's, 650's, 700's and 750's.

This is co-operation with my friends. One just sold PIII 500 Mhz with pre-installed Ubuntu Linux 6.06 LTS, with a monitor and everything for a 100 €'s. I know ^^ ( I did installation of Linux, added few things and made test runs etc. He supplied parts )

We'll see how many computer's we can build from our scrap parts ( me and my two friends ) and rest CPU's, which are left over we'll sell of affordable price, which still gives us profit.

Lower duron's we plan to sell in eBay type thing, like starting price 1€ and minimum raise 20 snt. for 600 to 700mhz duron.s 2€'s for 700 to 750 mhz 20snt raise. 800 to 850 Mhz 3 €'s and above that 4 €'s. A 1000 Mhz we could try to sell even as high as 6 €'s.

This is good way to support my BBA studies (not in economic point of view but to put in use theory what I've learned about marketing, selling and economics. )

When you know where are demand for old socket a processors, its not hard to sell them. Its just need small trick: to find where is demand and then supply what peoples want.
