Hi guys, I have a question that I was hoping some of you know the answer to.
This question has 2 parts:
How to hook up a PS2 to a DVI LCD monitor so that it works?
Does this also work for a display with 2560x1600 resolution?
Thanks for any help!

Hooking up PS2 to 30 inch dual DVI display?

My HP LP3065 30" 2560x1600 lcd can not be used, and for the same reasons monitors like dell 3007wfp and samsung 305t and others I fail to list can't be connected either.
The reasons:
a) Only DVI connector.
b) No scaler inside the monitor, so it only supports the native resolution.
However, some 30" monitors that have been released _this year_ do contain both a) many kinds of connectors and b) a scaler so they could be used.
So make sure you use the correct model.
If you already have the lcd, then you are out of luck. External scalers that can feed 2560x1600 are probably too expensive.

The Dell 3008WFP does, but I'm not aware of any others at the moment (which is not to say they don't exist).lm wrote:However, some 30" monitors that have been released _this year_ do contain both a) many kinds of connectors and b) a scaler so they could be used.
I've noticed many gamers seem to moan about it having a lot of input lag, which is apparently made worse when a monitor has an inbuilt scaler, so that's also something to bear in mind.
