quiet toilets
quiet a weird topic but it is very relevant to everyday life
I remember when I lived in taiwan before 12, we lived in relatively new apartment, the toilets there are really quiet when flushing, but none the less effective at its job.
Ever since i came to new zealand, all toilets i've seen are the typical, thunderously loud flushing toilets.
whats the acoustics of toilets in other parts of the world like?

Right before I moved, I got a new toilet flusher and the only reason I got it was because it said "very quiet".... It felt weird buying a "quiet" equipment not certified by SPCR I also got it because it has a very effective economy mode (3 liters per flush, or 6 liters per flush, compared to my previous flusher which used 9 liters every time !!!)
I'll try to find the reference online post it.

Flanker - us kiwis just don't seem to 'get' some things. Like washing machines. I've tried both top loading and front loading and I have absolutely no idea why anyone would ever use a top loader. But that's all kiwi families seem to use.
I've not had a single stretched t-shirt since getting our front loader. Although admittedly our machine is made by Electrolux, so it's a little weird having a vacuum as a washing machine. But hey, does the job (with less detergent, and less soap residue on the clothes for that matter)
We used to have a Hoover fridge as well, but it died
Gee, am I waffling OT or what. I remember going on my OE to Europe and can't say I noticed a difference in toilet volume / volume.

...the Stealth Toilet is similar to a regular toilet in decibels but uses only .8 gallons per flush.
Not sure Stealth is a great moniker for toilet. Silent but deadly?
Then again. I can't see spending $305 for the standard model when I can easily mod the toilet I currently have.

collasal roamers of the earth.
I want an even bigger toilet than the one I have now. if it is one thing our dense compilations need to dilute it to stay healthy..it is water, and lots of it.

There are often other reasons why multiple flushes are necessary besides masking embarrassing sounds.Arbutus wrote:Some people like loud flushing toilets. They are the type that are embarrassed by sounds of their bowel movement. They flush the toilet and then eject.
...flush-eject...flush-eject...flush-eject...flush-eject...
A water saving 6 litre toilet becomea a 12 - 18- 24 - ...
Personally, I don't care how loud a toilet is--I care how effective it is getting rid of waste on the first try.
