Madness? To fit Arctic Cooling NV Silencer on HD4850 ...

Post by MiKeLezZ » Wed Sep 10, 2008 3:05 am

I have an extra NV Silencer 5 rev.3 lying around ...
I can have a damn cheap HD4850 for 125 euros ...

Should I be able to combine them? I checked the mounting holes, they are same lenght, 53mm ... RAM seems to be covered (only the first one is not - not a problem).

Anybody tried it?

It will be better, or egual, as ICeQ4 of HIS, or Akasa Vortexx NEO ??

Vortex Neo advantage is that it has heatpipes and very simple installation. You also have headroom to turn Neo's fan lower. In other forum others used it sub 2000 RPM mode ( 1600 to 1800 RPM ) from original 2500rpms and it still cooled very well.

Arctic Cooling old generation NV cooler has not made to cool something with over 100W thermal load... But Accelero S1 is still the champion... and cheaper than Neo
