Accelero S1 included instructions

Post by EvoFire » Wed Feb 18, 2009 4:32 pm

So I broke down and bought an Accelero S1 for my 8800GS cause the stock Glaciator cooler from ASUS was driving me nuts.

I'm reading the instructions and its telling me I need to use an eraser on the memory chips for optimum performance... WTF?

Any tips guys?

Basically you need to clean the memory chips so that the adhesive on the RAM heatsinks will hold properly. An eraser might work, TIM cleaner or similar would be even better.

I cleaned it up really good and mounted it.... so far so good. Though it seems like the temperatures are a bit on the high side. Not sure if I mounted it properly.

Temps will be on the high side. After all, it's passive.

I use a 80mm fan on my 8800gt with the ac1, as i find that it gets to hot without a fan. The fan only runs at 550 rpm, so the noise is barely audible. This small amount of airflow keeps at 38-40 degrees idle and no more than 55 degrees at full load.
