Nice!
Gigabyte seems to be a really nice friend for anyone who wants a silent computer, and still running decent components without voiding the warranty. It's very possible that I'm going to purchase this graphic cards and their nForce4 SLI motherboard (the only Nforce4 with a passiv stock NB cooler iirc). Thumbs up for Gigabyte!
The only problem I can see, it seems to be a quite small heatsink for such a hot card? I've got a Zalman HP80a, and it looks as Zalman's has a larger heatsink, and that baby gets fairly hot on my slightly OC'd Ti4200.

Just wanted to bump this, as although it's not quite the same card, I found this review of the Gigabyte X800 Silentpipe yesterday. A standard X800 with fanless cooling.
It's typically only a few frames behind the faster X800XL but it is currently available in the UK and quite reasonably priced (at around £180 inc VAT). To me, this looks to be better bang-for-buck than the X800XL but is still only PCI-E
(Aside, I am quite disappointed as I noticed that Scan were stocking this card yesterday for £175 but it's now gone from their site and they are only offering the X800XL at around £250 on pre-order - perhaps they are going like hotcakes ).

I read that neoseeker article on the X800 today. It's selling for $265 US at ZZF. Which is less than Gigabyte's passive 6800 is going for. Supposedly ATI's MSRP for the X800 is $200 US, though none of them are selling for that yet.
I'm quite surprised at how fast the X800 really is - seems great value for money. In absolute terms, the performance delta between the X800 and X850XT PE is so small there is no justification for the large increase in cost - it's very rarely the difference between playable and unplayable.
Bolt on a passive heatpipe cooler and this seems like a winner.

Now apparently shipping within EU:
"We spoke about this graphic card early January. Almost two months later, the Gigabyte X800 XL fanless is finally available. The manufacturer just announced the GV-RX80L256V availability for 380 €."

Can anyone confirm whether this card supports video-in (VIVO) or not?
Scan says that it does, but the card looks like it just has the usual DVI, D-Sub and S-Video Out connections to me.
The Gigabyte UK site doesn't mention it and currently only supplies a manual in Japanese!
I've trawled about for reviews of this card but I can't find any either.

My guess is that it doesnt support VIVO... If you manage to find decent PCD pics of it then it should be easy to check if the PCB has the "Ati Rage Theater" chip. It clearly says it on the chip. I just got a Club 3d x800XL, the cooler looks better than Sapphire or Connect 3D, and it has Dual-DVI and VIVO for the same price as Sapphire and Connect 3d I paid 339€ for it.
Review:

It apparently even overclocks (!). Quite a feat for a passive card, imo.

They do actually. I realize your post was in February but take a look at this thread ..v3n wrote:I really would like to go Nvidia (they support stereo 3d in drivers which i use when gaming) but Gigabyte dont make the Nvidia silentpipe model in PCI-X
The ATI model is faster and cheaper than the 6800 anyway

Further down, you'll see some reference to the PCI-e version, GV-NX66T128VP is the model you are looking for.
In stock at Canada Computers, and out of stock at NCIX for those of you in Canada.

Well i got the card installed in my new system.
It runs cool during everything except gaming.
After gaming its hot to touch.
It think it was affecting performance when i had the case open, but when i closed it played for an hour and didn't notice any problems.
I think closing the case impoves the airflow over the card.
I'm still trying to figure out how to measure temps on the card.
I will post a more in depth review in a couple weeks, but untill then if anyone has any quesitons I can try and answer.
