Slightly off topic, but I'm wondering how much power this video card will draw. It was presented at Computex Taipei yesterday by MSI. Basically, it's a "dual" GeForce 6800 "Ultra" with "1GB" DDR3:

I'm not sure if this card will be officially released or not... This could be a bad move because the GeForce 7800GTX will soon be available. Oh! And looking how huge the card is, it can represent a real challenge... First, you need to find a case for this monster and once you have it, find a way to silence the beast!

Hmmmm... "Smarter fan, lower noise"? Does it mean it's no longer called a leaf blower? :)

I am amazed by the stupidity of the manufacturers (MSI is not the first). Even if the 7800 wouldn't be just a month away, it still is a very bad move to make such an ultra-oversized-overpriced card (I suppose they would want >1500$ for it). And, by the way, that monster definitely tops 200W!

Well the 7800 is a month away from a paper launch and 4 from a retail launch. The card is still a monster though. The 512 MB 6800 Ultra OC just misses a 100watts so I guess this card is pushing 200W. But SLI doesnt count, I'm still waiting for the 200W chips.

I have had enough issues with a 6800 ultra single (agp) too hot and draws a LOT of current , in the region of 70 watts I have been informed so to double the wattage , and the heat , for me , would be insanity.

OMG!!! 200+ watt GPUs!! What are we gonna do!

Anyway, looking at the SLI vs single card scores, it looks like the 7800 is just below the 6800 Ultra in terms of power usage. We should see some 512 OC boards supass the 6800 Ultras and push 100Watts.

I bet the manufacturers with single slot 6800 Ultra SLI are feeling rather stupid now and conjuring up new marketing to try and get rid of the boards.
