My Leadtek Nvidia 6600GT shows the GPU and ambient temperature in Windows. It also has a Core Slowdown Threshold temperature that is set to 127C. It looks like the number is in a data entry field, but I cannot change the number. I would like to lower it to about 75C, since the video card idles at about 42C with a VF700 AlCu. The software also allows an option to notify the user if the temperature reaches the threshold (in addition to just slowing down). Has anyone been able to change the threshold number?

I could tell you for sure if I had my machine here, alas I don't. But have you tried the nVidia bios editor?

No, and I would prefer not to use it if possible.

My 6800GT has its core slow down temperature stuck at 127C too. Like you said, it looks like it should be editable, but it is not.

does rivatuner or coolbits enable it or picking advanced user may open up options. I'll look for it in the oc and post back.

i thought that value could only be set in the bios. i just downloaded
nibitor 2.1 and it had an option to edit the temperature threshold value, so that may be your only option. use at your own risk, of course
