MSI 6600, Nvidia 77.77 vs 66.81 driver 5c-6c hotter at idle

I've got a MSI care based on a nvidia 6600 chip.
I am using "Nvidia Monitor" to look at these GPU temps.

I notice a difference of temps at idle (and I think there is maybe a similar difference at full graphics load but I do not know for sure as that is difficult to heat the system up in a row testing- but I sense it maybe in the high 60s with 66.81 while in the lower 70s with 77.77.

Okay, I tested all these drivers in a row really quickly unistalling and reinstalling.
The original MSI driver ( 6.6.8.1 )and it is reading 47c-48c at idle .
The update MSI driver 76.45 reads 53c at idle./
and the driver from the nvidia site 77.77 reads 53 at idle.
And Everest reports 44-45c GPU and 40c at GPU Ambient with all these different drivers


So do you all think it is just an error in the driver reading temp?
Or do you think the 77.77 drives it harder at idle and maybe load (which I wasn't certain about).

I am not the only one who has observed this.
I found this other forum thread, and it links to another so you all can follow its links and read.

But after reading all that , I still could not figure out whether they were concluding it is a real temperature difference , or a false reporting of the temp sensor data or whatever. I think maybe it seemed like the concensus was there actually was a difference in real temperature depending on the driver.

from everything ive read and experienced with GPU monitoring software, they are wildy inaccurate, as much at 30-40c difference between them. Id get a hardware probe and measure the temperatures.
