new passive VGA cooler or just passive card variant?

They make noise, too.

new passive VGA cooler or just passive card variant?

Post by Weldingheart » Mon May 15, 2006 7:39 pm

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I haven't seen this passive VGA cooler before, or maybe this just a passive variant from one(who?) graphics card manufacturer?anyone can identify or give a link? thanks in advance.

however that card is not any of those high end PCIes since there's no PCIe power connector. I also suppose it's not all copper, but copperplated aluminium like VM-102..
source: there's no info on that page referring the VGA cooler other than only "drooling at (not so impressive)Noctua 120"
I also can't find any at Rascom's site

I could have sworn that it's a pre-installed solution, a GeForce 6600GT from ABiT, AOpen or Gigabyte, but I can't find any proof, so I'm beginning to doubt. The closest I've seen is the Gigabyte (http://www.pconline.com.cn/diy/diy/0506 ... _thumb.jpg), but the one in your image doesn't look like it has a blue PCB.

It looks like the new MSI 7600GT with HDCP. I've been eyeing this baby for quite some time now.

That picture actually shows how big the back heatsink is. It certainly looks promising. I wonder how it compared to Gigibyte's silentpipe II.

There is only one draw back of MSI's design though, it's a big longer than other 7600GTs. I plan to use it in a HTPC, hopefully it won't cause clearance issues.
